“You can’t bottle a moment - but you can write it down, set it to music, and allow it to echo long after the moment has passed.”

- Geoff

What if I'm not sure what to go for?

No problem. If you’re unsure which version fits your moment best - or if you’ve got something in mind that’s not listed here - just get in touch.

If there’s a way to make it work, Geoff will find it (probably over a cuppa!).

How does it work?

It all starts with a conversation.

Once you get in touch, Geoff will offer a free, informal chat to learn more about you and the story you want to tell. Whether it’s for a wedding, a loved one, a milestone, or something personal - you’ll talk about what you’d like the song to feel like, sound like, and say.

From there, he’ll guide you through the options, timelines, and how it all works - including things like feedback rounds*, delivery formats**, and pricing. You won’t need to make any decisions straight away, and everything’s tailored around what feels right for you.

Once you’re happy and ready to go, Geoff will begin crafting the song - usually starting with a sketch or early draft for you to hear. You’ll have the chance to shape it along the way*, before receiving the final version in the format that suits you best**.

This is a personal process, with clear steps and no pressure. Just a thoughtful, collaborative way to turn your story into something unforgettable.

*A couple of light revisions are always included - just to make sure it feels right. If more are needed, Geoff will chat it through with you first.

**Turnaround time and delivery format vary depending on the version you choose, and will be clearly outlined in your agreement.

Why should I do this?

Some moments are too big for a card, too personal for a playlist, too special to let pass with silence.

A song lives longer than the day it’s written for - it tells a story that stays. Whether it’s a gift for someone else or something just for you, it becomes part of the memory, not just a reflection of it. It’s how you make a feeling stick around, even after the candles are blown out or the confetti’s been swept away.

A bespoke song isn’t about being flashy or over-the-top. It’s about saying something that only you can say, in a way that lasts.

FAQs

How much does it cost?

Every song Geoff writes is unique - just like the person or moment it’s written for. That means there’s no fixed price list. Instead, he’ll ask a few quick questions to understand what you’re looking for, then provide a no-obligation quote based on what it’ll take to bring the idea to life. It’s not just about time - it’s about the care, thought and craft that go into making something truly personal.

How long does it take?

It depends on what you need, but usually 2–4 weeks is enough. Geoff will chat with you about timelines up front so it works for everyone. Need it sooner? Let him know - magic sometimes moves fast.

Couldn’t I just get AI to write a song?

Sure - but it won’t know the mug they always use, or the thing they’d never say out loud.

Geoff writes from the bits that don’t show up in data - the details that make us human.

That’s what makes these songs different,

What if I don’t play an instrument or sing?

You don’t need to! Whether you just want the lyrics or a fully recorded version you can share, there’s an option to suit you. Geoff will help you choose the right one.

Can I give input and hear it along the way?

Yes, absolutely. There’s space for a couple of rounds of tweaks - just enough to get it feeling right, without overthinking the magic.*

Will my story and song stay private?

Of course. Nothing will be shared publicly without your say-so or permission!

Can I use the song however I like?

Pretty much! For personal use (sharing with friends and family, performing at events, posting on socials), it’s yours. If you’d like to release or distribute it commercially, just let Geoff know - he'll work something out that’s fair and simple.

I’ve got something different in mind - can you help?

Most likely, yes! If you’ve got something off-menu, drop Geoff a message and he’ll see how to make it happen.

Can I get it as a surprise gift for someone?

Definitely. Geoff can even help you plan how to reveal it — whether that’s with a video, a printed lyric sheet, or a quiet moment and a pair of headphones.

*See the “How it works” section for more info on revisions and delivery.

Geoff’s written all kinds of songs - below you’ll find just a few highlights. First, a closer look at a handful of personal favourites and the stories behind them. Then, a quick tour of the different genres and moods he’s worked in. Finally, a few lyric excerpts — proof that sometimes a single line can say everything.
🎵 SILVER AND GOLD - A WEDDING SONG
Written for Geoff’s close friend Carl — a fellow songwriter — on the day of his wedding. The song brings together personal references from Carl’s past songs with a celebration of old friends meeting new beginnings. It was written as a gift and performed live during the ceremony, with not a dry eye in the room.

“It was a real joy to weave stories together from all the parts of his life — and even better to sing it live for everyone who’d helped shape them.” – Geoff
Geoff · Silver and Gold
"Silver and gold
Here comes new to meet the old
Over land, across the sea
To join in your festivity
Here we can become
Greater than their sum
Together, silver and gold
Today we’re yours to have and to hold"

🎵 THESE STREETS - A REFLECTIVE SONG
A quiet, reflective ballad about absence, memory, and the way certain streets hold the echoes of those we love. These Streets began as a songwriting challenge — one of 12 tracks Geoff wrote in just seven days each — but took on a life of its own when it resonated with listeners online. The lyrics speak to anyone who’s ever walked through familiar places and felt the presence of someone who’s no longer there.

“This one started as a simple idea about how a place can feel completely different when someone’s gone — how it becomes unrecognisable without them in it. I didn’t expect the response it got. The comments section filled with people sharing who they were missing. It suddenly didn’t feel like my song anymore — and that was strangely beautiful.” – Geoff
Geoff · These Streets
"I always knew it wouldn’t be the same
Walking these streets
And calling out your name
And you don’t call back at all
I still keep a memory of your face
From the last time we shared this place
It’s not like it was before
This City ain’t about you anymore"

🎵 THICKER THAN WATER - A DEDICATION
Written after the passing of Geoff’s grandmother, Thicker Than Water is a folk-inspired reflection on love, family, and legacy. Rooted in the traditions she held dear — with a gentle nod to her favourite hymn at the end — the song is both personal and quietly universal.

It’s a meditation on how we carry people with us long after they’re gone, and how shared stories can echo louder than words.

“She loved music, Scotland, and her family — and this song is all three. When words failed us, I tried to let the melody speak. My grandad said she would have loved it — and I think that’s the highest praise I’ve ever had.” — Geoff
Geoff · Thicker Than Water
"When the day is over
What will wash away?
River gently taking
Those who cannot stay
If we cannot see them
Are they really gone?
As long as we’re together
Their stories will live on

As long as we’re together
Their stories will live on."

🎵 GEOFF IN DIFFERENT GENRES
Geoff doesn’t just write in one style — he’s dabbled (and occasionally cannonballed) into everything from heartfelt acoustic ballads to swing, character-driven musical theatre, and tongue-in-cheek power pop. Here’s a small selection of short clips that show what’s possible when you chase the right sound for the right story.

🎵 GEOFF'S WORDS AND LYRICS
Below are a handful of lyric excerpts from songs Geoff has written over the years - lines that seem to hold their own on the page, even without the music. Lyrics are meant to be sung, not read, but the good ones still carry weight when they’re stripped of melody. A turn of phrase. A shift in tone. Something that lands just right.
  • '...and now she'll fly with her own wings, away from all these simple things - and with her own voice she will sing, above the smiling earth...'
  • 'Now you're mine, I'm doing fine - the fear just melts away...'
  • 'We have quite the story, all that we've been through - never-ending journey, places old and new...'
  • "Tell me how are you feeling?
Is there a chance you’re the same
Should we be planning a wedding
So I can take your name?"
  • "You should know before we hit the road
To the thousands of places we could be
High or low - it don’t matter where we go
Just as long as I can take you with me"
  • "If we take a picture on this day every year
We will see how far we have come
‘Cause memories may fade but photographs remain
So we can relive Golden Days..."
